Sesame Cheese Wafers Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 jar (5 oz.) sharp pasteurized process cheese spread | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), softened | |
| 2/3 cup all-purpose flour, unsifted | ||
| Sesame seed | 3 Tablespoon, toasted | |
Directions
In bowl of electric mixer, beat together cheese spread, butter, and flour until well blended.
Turn cheese mixture out onto a lightly floured board and shape into a smooth log 12 inches long.
Sprinkle board evenly with sesame seed; then roll log in seed, pressing lightly to embed seed around entire log.
Wrap in wax paper and chill until firm or until next day. (Wrap airtight to freeze for longer storage.)
To bake (thaw if frozen), cut log into 1/4 -inch-thick slices and place 1 inch apart on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake, uncovered, in a 375° oven for about 12 minutes or until wafers are golden on the bottom (turn one over to check).
Transfer to a wire rack.
Serve warm or cooled.
