Serinakaker Recipe
Ingredients
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 1 Teaspoon | |
| 1 cup plus 2 tablespoons sugar | ||
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 , Well beaten | |
| Vanilla extract | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Egg whites | 2 | |
| Blanched almonds | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
Sift flour with baking powder and 1 cup sugar.
Cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.
Add egg, vanilla, and 1 egg white, beaten until stiff and then beaten with 2 tablespoons sugar.
Blend well.
With floured fingers shape dough into small balls.
Beat remaining egg white until foamy.
Dip each ball into egg white, then roll in chopped nuts.
Put on greased cookie sheets and flatten slightly.
Bake in preheated moderate oven (350 F.) for 12 to 14 minutes.
