Seafood Gumbo Recipe
Ingredients
| 60 ml saf flower oil | ||
| Spanish onion | 1 , diced | |
| Green bell peppers | 2 To taste, diced | |
| Celery stalks | 3 , diced | |
| Hot italian sausage | 225 Gram, sliced | |
| Flour | 45 Milliliter | |
| 500 ml tomatoes, peeled, seeded, chopped | ||
| 750 ml water or fish stock | ||
| Raw rice | 250 Milliliter | |
| Salt | 10 Milliliter | |
| 3 ml each of oregano leaves, thyme leaves, paprika, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder | ||
| Okra | 500 Milliliter, sliced | |
| Shrimp | 225 Gram, deveined | |
| Crab meat | 225 Gram | |
| Lobster meat | 225 Gram | |
| Clams | 225 Gram | |
| 30 ml gumbo file | ||
Directions
In a large dutch oven, heat the oil, add the onion, bell peppers, celery and sausage.
Cook until sausage is cooked through.
Add the flour and cook for 3 minutes.
Add the tomatoes, water, rice, seasonings and okra, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
Add the seafood and continue to simmer for 15 minutes.
Stir in the gumbo file and serve.
