Seafood Okra Gumbo Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 2/3 cup chopped green onions and tops | ||
| Celery | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Garlic | 2 Clove (5gm), finely chopped | |
| Okra package | 1 , Defrosted | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Sugar | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Thyme | 1/4 Teaspoon, crushed | |
| 1 whole bay leaf | ||
| 6 drops liquid hot pepper sauce | ||
| Raw shrimp | 1 pound, cleaned | |
| Crab meat | 1/2 pound, frozen | |
| Stewed tomatoes | 2 Can (10oz) | |
Directions
Thaw frozen seafood.
In 3-quart casserole, combine butter, onions, celery, garlic, okra and seasonings.
Cover.
MICROWAVE 2 to 4 MINUTES on HIGH, or until celery is tender, stir once or twice.
Add shrimp, crab meat and tomatoes.
Cover.
MICROWAVE 8 to 12 MINUTES on HIGH, or until shrimp is cooked.
Stir once or twice during cooking time.
Let stand 5 minutes before serving.
Remove bay leaf.
Serve with rice, if desired.
