Ingredients
1/2 cup butter
1/4 cup warmed honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon soda
Directions
Beat butter until soft and creamy.
Add honey and continue beating.
Add vanilla.
Combine flour, salt, and soda.
Stir into the butter-honey mixture.
Mix thoroughly.
Chill the dough for several hours.
Preheat oven to 350° F.and grease a cookie sheet.
When ready to bake, sprinkle flour lightly over the greased sheet.
Rub flour on your hands and press the dough gently onto the sheet in the form of a rectangle about 8 x 10 inches, 1/4 inch thick.
Cut dough into 1 1/4 inch squares and prick each one with a fork.
Bake in preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
