Scotch Shortbread Recipe

Ingredients

 
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
 
1 cup sugar
 
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
 
1 1/2 cups barley flour

Directions

Combine all ingredients in the Bosch bowl.
Turn out onto a floured board.
If necessary, knead in additional flour until the dough cracks and does not stick to the surface.
Roll to 1/4inch thickness.
Cut with a cookie cutter, or cut into 1 1/2 inch squares with a knife.
Bake on ungreased baking sheets in a 275° F.
Oven for 50 minutes or until lightly browned.
