Schnitz Apple Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| One 10" unbaked, unpricked pie shell | ||
| Apples | 4 Large | |
| Thick cream | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), soured | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Butter | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Ground cinnamon | 1 Teaspoon | |
Directions
Cut each apple into 6 pieces.
Peel and core each section.
Arrange attractively in 1 layer in the pie shell.
Sprinkle on the cream, followed by the brown sugar, the butter cut in little pieces, the flour, and the cinnamon.
Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees.
Reduce heat to 350 degrees and continue baking 30-40 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is nicely browned.
