Scalloped Oysters Recipe
Ingredients
| 2 cups oysters, shucked, in liquid | ||
| 2 tablespoons oyster liquid | ||
| Milk | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1/2 cup fine bread crumbs | ||
| 1/2 cup fine cracker crumbs | ||
| Margarine | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), melted | |
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°F.
Clean the oysters for bits of shell and reserve the liquid.
Mix the bread and cracker crumbs with the melted margarine.
Place a thin layer of the crumb mixture in a shallow greased baking dish.
Cover this layer with half the oysters.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Top with the oyster liquid and milk.
Repeat.
Cover the top with the remaining crumbs.
Bake for 20 minutes.
