Scalloped Green Peas And Onions Recipe
Ingredients
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
2 cups milk
1 (10-ounce) package frozen peas, partially defrosted and broken apart
1 pound small white onions, peeled
1 pound potatoes, peeled and sliced
1 cup shredded Swiss cheese
Directions
Melt butter in saucepan over low heat; blend in flour, salts, and pepper.
Add milk, stirring constantly.
Cook and stir until sauce is smooth and thickened.
Arrange half of the peas, onions and potatoes in a buttered shallow 1 1/2 quart casserole.
Spoon half of sauce over vegetables, sprinkle half of cheese over sauce.
Repeat.
Bake at 375° until vegetables are tender, about 1 hour.
