Savoy Pork Chops Recipe
Ingredients
| Vegetable oil | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pork chops | 4 | |
| 2 large cooking apples | ||
| Seedless raisins | 50 Gram | |
| Finely grated rind 1 orange | ||
| 2 dl. apple (dry) wine | ||
| Fried apple rings | ||
| Salt | To Taste | |
| Pepper | To Taste | |
Directions
Heat the oil in a large shallow pan and fry the chops steadily until golden both sides, about 5 minutes.
Lower the heat and add the peeled, cored and sliced apples, raisins, orange rind and wine, with seasoning to taste.
Cover tightly and simmer gently for 25 to 30 minutes, turning the chops at half time.
Lift out the chops, stir the apples so that they form an apple sauce with the wine and raisins.
Serve the chops on top of the apple sauce, garnished with fried apple rings.
Thick slices of lean belly pork are good cooked this way too, and cheaper.
