Directions
Boil gently for 40 minutes until tender.
3 Meanwhile,heat the butter in a frying pan (skillet) and shallow- fry the onions until golden.
Add the raisins, flaked almonds, cin- namon and season with salt and pepper.
4 Add the strained, cooked wild rice and heat through.
Serve with game.
Tip: Wild rice can be mixed with a variety of vegetables such as cooked peas, corn kernels, lentils and beans.
Try mixing in some chopped cooked meat or poultry.
They can be stir-fried in oil or but- ter and served as a savoury first course or as an accompaniment to game.
