Savory Ribs Recipe
Ingredients
| Vegetable oil | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Onion | 1 , finely chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Teaspoon, chopped | |
| Ground ginger | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Allspice | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Red pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon, crushed | |
| Coriander | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Bay Leaf | 1 | |
| Apple Juice | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Soy sauce | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Honey | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Red wine vinegar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 1 pound pork side ribs, fat trimmed | ||
Directions
Preheat a heavy skillet over medium heat for 3 minutes and add the vegetable oil.
Saute the onion in the oil until lightly caramelized.
Add the garlic and saute for 1 minute.
Add the ginger, allspice, red pepper, coriander, salt and bay leaf; saute for 2 minutes.
Stir in the apple juice, soy sauce, honey and vinegar; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from heat; cool.
Cut up the pork ribs and place in a greased 8 -square baking dish.
Pour the apple juice mixture over the ribs, making sure they are well coated.
Chill, covered, for 8 to 10' hours.
Bake, covered, at 375 degrees for 45 minutes.
