Savory Walnut Bread Recipe
Ingredients
| Vegetable oil spray | ||
| All purpose flour | 2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Baking soda | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Firmly packed light brown sugar | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Skim milk | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Finely chopped walnuts | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), roasted | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350° F.
Lightly spray an 8-x-4-inch loaf pan with vegetable oil.
In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and brown sugar.
Set aside.
In a large bowl, beat egg until thick and lemon-colored.
Add milk and continue beating until well blended.
Add sifted dry ingredients and walnuts, stirring until mixture is moist.
Turn mixture into prepared loaf pan.
Bake 40 minutes, or until a cake tester or a wooden toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
Loosen loaf from sides of pan with spatula.
Turn out, right side up, on a wire rack to cool.
