Savory Upside Down Pie Recipe
Ingredients
| Ground beef | 1/2 Pound | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Onion | 1 Large, chopped | |
| Egg yolks | 3 | |
| Bacon | 4 Ounce, sliced | |
| Blue cheese | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), crumbled | |
| 1-1/2 tablespoons each chopped fresh sorrel and chervil or 1/4 teaspoon each dried herb | ||
| Mushrooms | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Frozen puff pastry package | 1/2 , thawed | |
Directions
Mix ground beef, salt, pepper and onion in a large bowl.
Stir in egg yolks.
Preheat oven to 400°F (205CC).
Cover bottom of an 8-inch (20-cm) removable-bottomed cake pan with bacon slices.
Arrange blue cheese, sorrel, chervil and mushrooms on top.
Cover with ground meat mixture, pressing it down firmly.
Smooth the surface.
On a floured surface, roll out puff pastry dough to a circle large enough to cover filling.
Place over filling; pierce dough all over with a fork.
Bake 40 to 50 minutes.
Invert pan over a warm plate or a rack and turn out pie.
