Savory Tostadas Recipe
Ingredients
| Butter/Margarine | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Cornstarch | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Green pepper | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Onion | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), finely chopped | |
| Chili powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Ground cloves | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 2 cups bite-size pieces cooked beef | ||
| Tomato | 1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Raisins | 3 Tablespoon | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 6 tostada shells | ||
| Lettuce | 1 Cup (16 tbs), shredded | |
| Shredded Cheddar cheese | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
Directions
1. Place margarine in 1 1/2-quart casserole. Microwave uncovered on high (100%) until melted, 15 to 30 seconds; stir in cornstarch.
2. Stir in green pepper, onion, garlic, chili powder and cloves. Cover tightly and microwave on high (100%) until vegetables are hot, 2 to 3 minutes.
3. Stir in beef, tomato, raisins and salt. Cover tightly and microwave on high (100%) until beef and raisins are hot, 3 to 4 minutes.
4. Place 1 tostada shell on each of 6 plates. Spoon about 1/2 cup beef mixture onto each tostada. Sprinkle with lettuce and cheese.
