Savory Green Beans Recipe

Ingredients
1 1/2 pounds green beans
1/4 cup oil
1 clove garlic, crushed
1 tablespoon chopped onion
3/4 cup diced green pepper
1/4 cup boiling water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon dried basil
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Directions
1. Leave the beans whole, or cut into one-inch pieces.
2. Heat the oil and garlic in a heavy pan. Add the onion and green pepper and cook slowly three minutes. Add the beans, water, salt and basil, cover and simmer until the beans are tender, about fifteen minutes if whole.
3. Stir in half the cheese, turn the mixture into a serving dish and sprinkle with the remaining cheese
