Sauteed Sauerkraut Recipe
Ingredients
1-2 pounds sauerkraut
4 tablespoons duck fat, vegetable oil, bacon fat, or butter
1 medium onion, peeled and chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
1 small apple, peeled, cored and chopped
Fresh pepper
Directions
Heat fat and add onion, garlic, and apple.
Cook 2 minutes and add the sauerkraut (do not drain or wash).
Grind some pepper over kraut and stir to mix well.
Turn to medium heat and cover.
Cook 30-35 minutes.
Sauerkraut will be crunchy.
