Ingredients
1 pound Italian sausage,casings removed
1 large onion, chopped
1 garlic clove, pressed
3 (14 ounce) cans beef broth
2 (14 ounce) cans diced tomatoes
1 (8 ounce) can tomato sauce
1 cup dry red wine
2 carrots, thinly sliced
1 tablespoon sugar
2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
2 small zucchini, sliced
1 (9 ounce) package refrigerated cheese tortellini
Directions
Brown the sausage with the onion and garlic in a skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain.
Stir in the beef broth, undrained tomatoes, tomato sauce, wine, carrots, sugar and Italian seasoning; bring to a boil.
Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.
Skim off the fat.
Stir in the zucchini and tortellini.
Simmer for 10 minutes longer.
