Sausage-Sauerkraut Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 1-lb. roll Polish sausage | ||
| 4 Washington apples | ||
| Caraway seed | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Sauerkraut | 2 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Bacon fat | 3 Tablespoon | |
Directions
Cut sausage into 1/2-inch thick slices; arrange half the sausage in bottom of greased casserole.
Peel and core apples; cut into crosswise slices.
Arrange half the apples over sausage.
Add caraway seed to sauerkraut; spread over apple mixture.
Arrange remaining sausage slices on sauerkraut; top with remaining apple slices.
Pour bacon fat over top.
Cover.
Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 40 minutes.
