Sausage Casserole Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 pound sweet Italian sausage, with the casing removed | ||
| 2 medium-size all-purpose potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced | ||
| 1 medium-size yellow onion, peeled and thinly sliced | ||
| Carrot | 1 Large, thinly sliced | |
| Dried basil | 1 Teaspoon, crumbled | |
| Chopped tomatoes | 3 , peeled | |
| Salt | 1 Teaspoon | |
| Black pepper | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the sausage in a heavy 9- or 10-inch skillet over moderate heat, and cook, uncovered, stirring frequently, until browned—about 5 minutes. Pour off

2. Layer an ungreased 2-quart casserole with the sausage, potatoes, onion, and carrot. Repeat the layers. Add the basil, tomatoes, salt, and pepper, and bake, covered, for 45 minutes.
