Sausage Bean Stew Recipe
Ingredients
| Pork sausage - 2 pound bulk | ||
| Water | 4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Whole tomatoes - 2 (16-ounce) cans (4 cups), undrained, cut up | ||
| Red kidney beans - 2 (15 1/2-ounce) cans, drained | ||
| Great Northern beans - 15 1/2-ounce can, drained | ||
| Medium onions - 2, chopped | ||
| Medium potatoes - 2, peeled, cubed | ||
| Green bell pepper | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Thyme leaves | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic powder | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Large bay leaf - 1 | ||
Directions
MAKING
1. In a Dutch oven heat oil and brown sausage.
2. Stir with a spatula until crumbled.
3. Drain out the meat.
4. Add remaining ingredients and boil the mixture.
5. Decrease heat, cook covered, and simmer for 1 hour.
6. Discard bay leaf.
SERVING
7. Serve hot.
