Ingredients

 Bulk sausage - 1 pound
 Apple1 Cup (16 tbs), shredded
 Bread crumbs - 1/3 cup, fine dried
 Onions1/4 Cup (16 tbs), finely chopped
 Egg1
 Beef broth2 Can (10oz), condensed
 Water1/4 Cup (16 tbs)
 Mace1/8 Teaspoon
 Regular rice - 1 cup, raw
 Apple slices3
 Pepper- a generous dash

Directions

GETTING READY
1.In a bowl mix apple, onion, egg, pepper and sausage. Mix all the ingredients very well.
2. Mold the mixture into 16 meatballs.

MAKING
3. Brown the meatballs in an ovenproof skillet.
4. Pour off fat from the skillet.
3. Add broth, carrots, water and mace into the skillet.
4. Boil the mixture and add rice. Keep stirring the mixture.

FINALIZING
5. Bake for 15 minutes at 450°F covered.
6. Keep stirring and place the apple slices between the meatballs.
7. Bake for 10 minutes more so that the rice gets tender.

SERVING
8. Serve sausage apple bake hot.
