Sausage Apple Bake Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 pound bulk sausage | ||
| Apple | 1 Cup (16 tbs), shredded | |
| 1/3 cup fine dry bread crumbs | ||
| Onion | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), finley chopped | |
| 1 egg, slightly beaten | ||
| Generous dash pepper | ||
| Beef broth | 2 Can (10oz), condensed | |
| Water | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Carrots | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), sliced | |
| Mace | 1/8 Teaspoon | |
| 1 cup raw regular rice | ||
| 3 apple slices (1/2-inch thick), cut in half | ||
Directions
Combine sausage, apple, crumbs, onion, egg, and pepper; mix thoroughly.
Shape into 16 meatballs.
In oven-proof skillet, brown meatballs; pour off fat.
Stir in broth, water, carrots, and mace.
Bring to boil; stir in rice.
Cover; bake at 450°F. for 15 minutes.
Stir; arrange apple pieces between meatballs.
Cover; bake 10 minutes more or until rice is tender.
Stir.
