Sausage And Peppers Recipe

Sausage and peppers is a skillet cooked sausage recipe. Prepared with italian sausage and vegetables, the sausage and peppers is cooked with tomato bisque and herbed with basil. Spiced with garlic, it is simmered to a finish and can be served with polenta.

Ingredients

 
1 pound Italian sausage, cut into 2-inch chunks
 
2 tablespoons water
 
2 large green peppers, cut into 1/2-inch-wide strips
 
1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings
 
2 cloves garlic, minced
 
1 can (11 ounces) Condensed Tomato Bisque
 
1/2 cup water
 
1/2 teaspoon dried basil leaves, crushed
 
Polenta

Directions

In 10-inch covered skillet over medium heat, cook sausage and 2 tablespoons water 5 minutes.
Uncover; cook until sausage is browned on all sides.
Add green peppers, onion and garlic; cook until vegetables are tender, stirring frequently.
Stir in soup, 1/2 cup water and basil; reduce heat to low.
Cover; simmer 10 minutes
