Ingredients
2 sticks (one9-ounce package) pie crust mix
3/4 cup (3 ounce) finely shredded Cheddar cheese
3 tablespoons boiling water
1 1/2 cups (two 7-ounce cans) mushroom sauce
Directions
Crumble pie crust mix into small bowl.
Add shredded cheese and boiling water.
Stir -with a fork until dough loses stickiness, forms a ball and completely cleans side of bowl.
Line tart shell pans by lightly pressing, with fingers, a small amount of dough in each shell.
Spoon 1 tablespoon mushroom mixture into each shell.
Bake in a hot oven (425° F.) for 10 to 12 minutes.
Remove from shell pans.
If desired, garnish with a dab of sour cream and top with pimiento and green pepper cutouts or small cut- outs of baked pastry.
A small cooky cutter does nicely for this purpose.
