Saucy Green Bean Bake Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 lb. fresh green beans, bias sliced in 1" pieces approximately | ||
| 4 cups | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Tomato sauce | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Prepared mustard | 1 Tablespoon | |
| Pepper | 1/8 Tablespoon | |
| Green pepper | 1/3 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Butter/Margarine | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Pimento | 2 Tablespoon, chopped | |
| Salt | 1/4 Tablespoon | |
| American Cheese | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs), shredded | |
Directions
Cook beans in boiling salted water for 20 minutes or until tender, drain.
In saucepan, cook onion, green pepper and garlic in butter until tender but not brown.
Remove from heat; stir in tomato sauce, pimento, mustard, salt and pepper.
Add beans.
Turn into a 1 quart casserole.
Cover and bake 20 minutes or until heated through at 350°.
Sprinkle cheese atop, bake uncovered for 3 minutes or until cheese is melted.
