Sauce Painted Spareribs Recipe
Ingredients
| 4 lbs. meaty spareribs or back ribs, cut in serving portions | ||
| Ketchup | 1 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Lemon juice | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Brown sugar | 2 Tablespoon | |
| Soy sauce | 1 Tablespoon | |
| 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish mustard | ||
| Onion | 1 Tablespoon, grated | |
| Salt | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| 1/4 teaspoon oregano, marjoram, or thyme | ||
| Tabasco | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm) | |
Directions
Partially cook ribs in a 350°F oven about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, combine remaining ingredients in a saucepan.
Simmer over low heat at least 10 minutes.
Remove garlic.
To grill, place ribs, meaty side down, on grill.
Slowly grill about 3 inches from coals.
Turn about every 5 minutes, brushing with sauce.
Grill until ribs are deep brown and crisp, about 25 minutes.
