Sauce for Veal Parmigiana Recipe
Ingredients
| Olive or salad oil - 2 tablespoons | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Italian tomatoes | 1 Can (10oz) | |
| Sugar | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
| Oregano leaves | 1/2 Teaspoon, dried | |
| Dried basil leaves | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Pepper | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
MAKING
1. In hot oil in medium saucepan, saute onion and garlic until golden-brown—about 5 minutes.
2. Mix well adding the undrained tomatoes, sugar, salt, oregano, basil and pepper, mashing the tomatoes with a fork.
3. Bring to boiling reduce heat and simmer, covered for 10 minutes.
SERVING
4. Serve with Veal Parmigiana.
