Sauce for Creamed Vegetables (White Sauce) Recipe
Ingredients
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
2 tablespoons flour
1 cup milk or 1/2 cup milk and 1/2 cup vegetable water Salt and pepper to taste
Directions
Melt butter or margarine, and blend in flour.
Stir in liquid slowly.
Cook until smooth, stirring constantly, until no taste of raw starch remains.
Season to taste.
Makes 1 cup.
