Sauce Caliente Recipe
Ingredients
| Olive oil | 3/4 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Garlic | 2 Tablespoon, minced | |
| Pepper flakes | 1/3 Teaspoon | |
| 1 1/2 cups tomato, peeled, seeded, and diced | ||
| Soft bread crumbs | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Chili powder | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Anchovy paste | 2 Teaspoon | |
| Tomato Paste | 1 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Sherry vinegar | 2 Teaspoon | |
Directions
1. In a medium skillet heat 2 tablespoons of the olive oil over moderate heat. Add garlic, pepper flakes, tomato, and bread crumbs. Saute 3 minutes. Add chili powder and saute an additional 2 minutes.
2. Transfer mixture to food processor or blender. Add anchovy paste, tomato paste, and sherry vinegar. Blend until smooth. With motor running, add remaining olive oil very slowly, blending to make a thick sauce.
