Satay Sauce Recipe

1 onion, finely chopped
 
2 cloves garlic, crushed
 
2 tablespoons salad oil
 
1 cup dry white wine
 
1/4 cup dry sherry
 
1/4 cup soy sauce
 
2 tablespoons tomato puree
 
1 tablespoon peanut
 
Butter

Directions

Saute onion and garlic in oil in a saucepan until golden.
Add wine, sherry, soy sauce and tomato puree.
Bring to the boil and simmer until reduced by a third.
Add peanut butter and mix thoroughly.
Use sauce to baste and serve with satays.
