Sandwich Loaf Italiano Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 loaf Cheddar-Cheese Bread, Herb Bread,or Italian bread | ||
| 1/3 cup butter or margarine,room temperature | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), minced | |
| Seasoned salt | 1/2 Teaspoon | |
| Italian herb seasoning | 1/4 Teaspoon, dried | |
| Parmesan cheese | 1/4 Cup (16 tbs), grated | |
| Green bell pepper | 1 Large | |
| Salami slice | 8 | |
| Provolone cheese slice | 8 | |
Directions
Preheat oven to 350F (175C).
Cut bread almost through into 16 slices, leaving bottom of loaf uncut.
In a small bowl, combine butter or margarine, garlic, seasoned salt, Italian seasoning and Parmesan cheese.
Cream with the back of a spoon until well mixed.
Spread butter or margarine mixture on cut surfaces facing each other on the first 2 bread slices.
Do not butter next 2 surfaces.
Butter next 2 surfaces facing each other.
Repeat to end of loaf.
Cut green pepper crosswise in 8 thin slices.
Remove and discard seeds.
Arrange 1 slice salami, 1 slice provolone cheese and 1 slice green pepper between each buttered slice.
Wrap loaf loosely in foil.
Bake 15 minutes.
