Salted Peanut Cookies Recipe

| Salt | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter/Shortening | 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) | |
| Firmly packed brown sugar | 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs) | |
| Egg | 1 | |
| Milk | 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) | |
| Grape nuts cereal flakes | 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs) | |
| Chopped salted peanuts | 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs) |

Directions
Cream shortening, add sugar gradually, and cream together until light and fluffy.
Add egg and beat well.
Add flour, alternately with milk, mixing well after each addition.
Stir in cereal and peanuts.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto greased baking sheet.
Bake in moderate oven (375°F.) 8 minutes, or until done.
Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
Raisin Cookies.
Follow recipe for Salted Peanut Cookies, using Grape-Nuts Flakes or Post 40% Bran Flakes.
Substitute raisins for the salted peanuts, and increase salt to 3/4 teaspoon.
Raisin Walnut Cookies.
Use recipe for Salted Peanut Cookies, but substitute 1/2 cup chopped walnuts and 1/2 cup raisins for the salted peanuts.
Increase salt to 3/4 teaspoon.
If Raisin Bran is used, omit raisins.
