Ingredients

 Gooseberries1 Kilogram
 Salt200 Gram
 Turmeric powder1 Teaspoon

Directions

1. Wash the gooseberries and set aside.
2. Boil enough water (to cover the berries), and add salt and turmeric powder. When it starts to boil, add the gooseberries and boil until they turn soft. Remove one from the water and press lightly. If the seed comes out easily, it is done.
3. Transfer the gooseberries into a wide-mouthed jar, cool thoroughly, then cover with a lid. Tie a clean muslin cloth around the lid, and leave aside.
4. When required, serve.
