Salsa Verde Recipe
Ingredients
| 1 tablespoon lard, butter or bacon drippings | ||
| Onion | 1/2 Cup (16 tbs), chopped | |
| Flour | 2 Tablespoon | |
| 2 cups canned stewed tomatoes, or 1 1/2 cups chicken broth | ||
| 1 cup chopped green chiles, or more | ||
| Garlic | 1 Clove (5gm), crushed | |
| Salt | 3/4 Teaspoon | |
Directions
1 Melt the lard in a saucepan over medium heat.
2 Saute the chopped onion in the lard. Add the flour and mix well.
3 Add the stewed tomatoes or chicken broth, chopped chiles, garlic and seasonings. Simmer for 20 minutes.
