Salsa Verde Recipe
This Salsa Verde recipe is sought after by all my friends who have tasted it. With Its delightful flavors the sauce is a perfect get together meal especially if served with tortillas. Try this excellent Salsa Verde.
Ingredients
1 12- to 13-ounce can whole green Spanish tomatoes (tomatillos), drained, or 1/2 pound fresh tomatillos
2 or more (to taste) fresh or canned pickled jalapeno peppers
1 small onion, cut up
1/2 cup loosely packed parsley leaves
1 tablespoon minced fresh coriander leaves
1 tablespoon salad oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
How to make Salsa Verde
1. If using fresh tomatillos, remove stems and outer husks; rinse well. Remove stems from peppers. In blender at low speed or in food processor with knife blade attached, blend all ingredients until smooth.2. In 1-quart saucepan over medium heat, heat mixture to boiling. Reduce heat to low; cover; simmer 10 minutes. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Use as dip for tortillas or serve as condiment with tacos, meat, poultry, or eggs.
