Ingredients

 Sabut urad dal - 1/2 kg
 Black pepper1 Teaspoon
 Garlic6 Clove (5gm)
 Black cuminseeds - 1 tsp
 Ginger2 Teaspoon, chopped
 Salt1 To taste
 Water15 Cup (16 tbs)
 Asafoetida water - a few drops
 Onion1
 Ghee2 Tablespoon

Directions

GETTING READY
1 Pick and wash the urad dal well.

MAKING
2 In a pan, boil water.
3 Add in urad dal and cook on low heat until half tender.
4 Add in asafoetida water, black pepper, chopped garlic, ginger and onion.
5 Cook until tender and well mixed.
6 In a pan heat the ghee.
7 Add in the black cumin seeds and fry till they splutter.
8 Mix with the dal and stir.

SERVING
9 Serve hot with rice or chapatis.
