Rye Pancakes Recipe

These Rye Pancakes are regular items of my breakfast menu. They taste awesome with both sweet or sour sauces ! Try out these Rye Pancakes and tell me if you liked them!

Ingredients

 
3 eggs, separated
 
1 2/3 cups buttermilk
 
1 teaspoon baking soda
 
1 1/2 cups rye flour
 
1 tablespoon sugar
 
1 teaspoon baking powder
 
1/2 teaspoon salt
 
3 tablespoons butter or margarine, softened

Directions

Beat the egg yolks, and add the buttermilk.
Combine dry ingredients, and add to the egg yolks and buttermilk.
Blend in butter or margarine.
Stiffly beat egg whites, and fold into batter.
Bake on a hot 375° F.griddle until brown, turning once.

These were the most softest, tastiest, fluffy pancakes. Thank you so much. I substituted 1 1/2 cup of rye for 1 cup rye, 1/2 cup barley. and 1 tb sugar for 3 teaspoon fructose sugar. Thanks again- very delicious
