1 1/2 cups sugar
6 eggs
3/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup grated lemon peel
1 1/2 cups flour
1 cup yellow corn meal
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/4 cup rum
Directions
Cream butter until soft; add sugar gradually, beating until light and fluffy.
Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition.
Blend in lemon juice, lemon peel together.
Add flour, cornmeal, baking powder; add to batter.
Blend well; stir in rum; pour in greased oblong cake pan (9 x 13 x 2 inches).
Bake for 1 hour at 350°
