Rum cake Recipe
My favorite Rum Cake Recipe. This cake is spongy and melts in your mouth. Rum adds so much flavor and taste to it.
Ingredients
1 cup chopped nuts
1 pkg. yellow cake mix
1 pkg. vanilla pudding
4 eggs
1/2 cup cold water
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1/2 cup dark rum(preferably Bacardi)
Glaze:
1 stick butter
1/4 cup water
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup rum
Directions
Sprinkle bottom of a greased 10 inch tube pan with the nuts.Mix all other ingredients together and pour over the nuts. Bake at 325 for about 1 hour.Cool for 5 minutes then invert onto cake rack.When cake is cool, poke holes all the way through with a long tined fork.Pour glaze over cake.
Glaze:
Boil the butter, water and sugar for 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Cool, then add the rum.Glaze will be a little runny.
