Directions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. In a medium bowl, beat butter and sugar with an electric mixer on medium speed until well blended. Beat in egg and 2 tablespoons rum. Beat in flour until a soft dough forms, scraping down side of bowl frequently with a rubber spatula.
2. Drop by slightly rounded measuring teaspoonfuls 2 inches apart onto well-greased cookie sheets. Bake 6 to 8 minutes, or until golden brown at edges.
3. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir together powdered sugar with remaining 1 tablespoon rum until glaze is smooth. Remove drops from oven and let cool 2 minutes on sheets, then remove to racks. Spread rum glaze over cookies and let cool completely. Store in a tightly covered container.
