Rum Cinnamon Syrup Recipe
Ingredients
| Water | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Cinnamon stick | 8 Inch, broken | |
| Light corn syrup | 3 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Packed brown sugar | 1 1/2 Cup (16 tbs) | |
| Rum extract | 1/4 Teaspoon | |
| Cinnamon stick pieces | 6 |
Directions
In saucepan combine water and broken stick cinnamon.
Simmer, covered, for 15 minutes.
Add corn syrup and brown sugar.
Cook and stir till sugar is dissolved; bring to boiling.
Stir in rum extract.
Strain out cinnamon.
Pour hot syrup into hot, clean half-pint jars; leave 1/2 inch headspace.
Add one piece of stick cinnamon to each jar.
Adjust lids.
Process in boiling water bath for 10 minutes. (Start timing when water returns to boiling.)
