Rosy Melon and Strawberries Recipe
Ingredients
| Honeydew melon | 1/4 | |
| 1/2 Charentais or Cantaloupe melon | ||
| 150 ml/5 fl oz/2/3 cup rose wine | ||
| Rose water | 3 Teaspoon | |
| 175 g/6 oz small strawberries, washed and hulled rose petals, to garnish | ||
Directions
1. Scoop out the seeds from both melons with a spoon. Then carefully remove the skin, taking care not to remove too much flesh.
2. Cut the melon flesh into thin strips and place in a bowl. Pour over the wine and sufficient rose water to taste. Mix together gently, cover and leave to chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours.
3. Halve the strawberries and carefully mix into the melon. Allow the melon and strawberries to stand at room temperature for about 15 minutes for the flavours to develop - if the melon is too cold, there will be little flavour.
4. Arrange on individual serving plates and serve sprinkled with a few rose petals, if wished.
