Rosy Applesauce Recipe
This Rosy Applesauce is my dreamy dessert sauce ! Pour this cooked pureed apple over latkes if you want. Otherwise use it as a dessert topping. Tell me how you've used this Rosy Applesauce.
Ingredients
2 pounds (6 to 8) red-skinned cooking apples (such as Mcintosh)
1/2 cup water
1/2 to 1 cup sugar (depending on type of apple and sweetness desired)
Directions
1. Wash, quarter and core apples. Put apples and water into a 3-quart glass casserole. Cover with an all-glass lid or plastic wrap. Cook in microwave oven 10 minutes at High; stir once.
2. Force apple mixture through a sieve or food mill. Add sugar and stir until sugar dissolves.
