Rosettes Recipe

Ingredients
1 cup plus 1 tablespoon all purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk
1 egg
1 tablespoon sugar
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Vegetable oil
Powdered sugar
Directions
Combine flour, salt, milk, egg, sugar,and vanilla extract in a medium mixing bowl; beat at low speed of an electric mixer until blended and smooth.
Cover and chill at least 30 minutes.
Pour about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large skillet; heat oil to 370°.
Heat rosette iron in hot oil about 1 minute.
Drain excess oil from iron, and dip iron into batter, being careful not to coat top of iron with batter.
Dip iron into hot oil.
As soon as rosette is formed, lift iron slowly up and down to release rosette from iron.
Fry until golden, turning to brown other side.
Drain upside down on paper towels.
Reheat iron in oil for a few seconds, and repeat procedure for each shell.
Dust lightly with powdered sugar
