Ingredients

 
2 pounds ground beef chuck or round
 
1 1/2 cloves garlic, or more to taste
 
3 or four fresh or canned green chili peppers or chili powder to taste
 
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
 
6 to 8 tablespoons butter

Directions

Put meat in mixing bowl.
Grate the garlic on a fine grater or mince it fine with a knife.
Chop the chili peppers, if available, and add them or the chili powder to the meat.
Add the salt and pepper.
Mix well with the hands.
Shape the meat into six or eight patties.
Grill or broil them to the desired degree of doneness, top each with a tablespoon of butter and serve with hot, buttered, toasted buns.
This meat mixture is also delicious when made into cock tail balls.
To make them, roll small portions of the meat mixture into balls about three quarters inch thick and place on skewers.
Broil or grill until done.
