Roly-Poly Pudding With Jam, Treacle, Or Fruit Mince Recipe
This incredibly tasty Roly Poly pudding is an indulgent dessert and is an all-time favorite at home. What's more, this mouthwateringly delicious Roly Poly Pudding can be filled with extra srumptious spread of jam, syrup or fruit mince, as per your choice!
Ingredients
| Baking powder | 1⁄2 Teaspoon | |
| Butter | 3 Ounce | |
| Salt | 1 Pinch | |
| Flour | 8 Ounce | |
| Milk or water | (for boiling) |
Directions
Sieve the flour, baking powder and salt; add the butter and mix well.
Add enough milk to make a rather firm, dry dough.
Roll the dough into an oblong on a floured pastry board, making one end a little wider than the other.
Spread with jam, syrup or fruit mince to within 1" of the edge (if syrup is used, scatter 1 tblspn, breadcrumbs over it).
Moisten the edges of the crust and roll up from the narrow end, pressing it down as you roll.
Scald and flour a pudding cloth and put the Roly-Poly, wrapped in greased paper, in it.
Fold over the cloth and tie the ends firmly.
Boil for 11/2 hours.
