Rocky Road Fudge Brownies Recipe

1 (20-ounce) package brownie mix
 
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
 
3 cups miniature marshmallows
 
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter or margarine
 
1/3 cup milk
 
2 ounces unsweetened chocolate
 
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
 
1 (1 pound) package confectioners' sugar, sifted

Directions

Prepare the brownie mix using the package directions.
Stir in the walnuts.
Spread the batter in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes.
Sprinkle the marshmallows evenly over the hot brownies.
Combine the butter, milk and chocolate in a heavy saucepan over low heat; cook until melted, stirring frequently.
Remove to a medium mixing bowl.
Add the vanilla and the confectioners' sugar gradually while beating at low speed.
If frosting is too thick for spreading, add 1 tablespoon of milk, stirring until smooth.
Spread over the cooled brownies.
Cut into bars.
