Rock Buns Recipe
Ingredients
| Baking powder | 2 Teaspoon (Leveled) | |
| Plain flour | 8 Ounce | |
| Salt - A pinch | ||
| Mixed spice - A pinch | ||
| Nutmeg - A pinch | ||
| Currants | 2 Ounce | |
| Margarine | 4 Ounce | |
| Sugar | 3 Ounce | |
| Mixed candied peel - 1 oz, chopped | ||
| Egg | 1 | |
Directions
GETTING READY
1 Preheat the oven to 425° F/ gas mark 7.
2 Lightly grease a baking tin.
MAKING
3 Measure baking powder into flour and add the salt.
4 In a bowl, sieve flour along with spice and nutmeg.
5 Clean the currants by putting them into sieve with some flour.
6 Rub well, and brush off the surplus flour.
7 Rub the fat into flour until it resembles fine breadcrumbs.
8 Addin the sugar, dried fruit and candied peel.
9 Beatthe egg in the basin and add to dry ingredients, using the fork.
10 Mix all the ingredients very well together.
11 The mixture should be fairly firm and dry.
12 Put the mixture in small heaps on the baking tin.
13 Bake for 15 minutes in a hot oven.
SERVING
14 Serve as desired.
