Roasted Chickpeas Recipe Video

A delicious, high fiber snack, these roasted chickpeas are a crispy, crunchy alternative to bland, mushy chickpeas.

Ingredients

 
1 (12 ounce) can chickpeas (garbanzo beans), drained
 
1-2 tablespoons olive oil
 
1/4 tsp Black pepper
 
salt to taste
 
garlic powder (optional)
 
Red chili powder or Paprika (optional)
 
To serve
 
Garnish with lemon juice, finely chopped onion and Coriander leaves

Directions

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).

Blot chickpeas with a paper towel to dry them.

In a bowl, toss chickpeas with olive oil, and season to taste with salt, black pepper.

Spread on a baking sheet, possibly in single layer, and bake for 15-25 minutes, until browned and crunchy.

Watch carefully the last few minutes to avoid burning.

When done, take out of the oven and again season with rest of the spices, garlic, paparika.

Serve as snack.

This Roasted Chickpeas taste great with zesty lime/lemon juice and finely chopped onion.

Coriander leaves(Dhaniya) can be sprinkled on top as well.
